Women in Film

14th February 2014

When I walked onto my first feature film set in 1998, I was one of a handful of females.  I was also young and the assumption was that I was either an actress, or part of make-up and hair.  Then, as now, the majority of film crews and HODs (heads of department) are men.  Although […]

Why the 40 Hour Work Week Wasn’t Such a Bad Idea

11th February 2014

Anyone who reads my blog on a regular basis knows that I often bang on about how people do not value their time enough. Film crews for instance, have been asked to work longer and longer hours for the same rate of pay. And in many cases, for an even lower rate of pay since […]

Muscles, Memory and Movement

When the body performs a movement, the muscles and the brain send messages to each other, forming a neural feedback loop that will be reactivated the next time this movement occurs. Sometimes, this loop can be interrupted or malformed through injury or bad habits, resulting in injury or muscular atrophy.  Lately, I’ve also been wondering […]

Cuban Fury Premier Pictures

Here are some pictures from the Cuban Fury premier and after party.  All of the Choreographic Production department attended, including Matt Harris, Mandy Montanez, and Anthony Trahearn.  I also brought my sister as a guest.  Anyway, it was fun getting all dressed up and having somewhere to go!  The film was brilliant, very funny and […]

Open Source Script-writing Software

10th February 2014

In the past I’ve used CELTX for screen-writing as it is open source and free.  However, these days, the software is super bloated and cumbersome and is basically trying to do too much, so I’ve switched to TRELBY and it’s BRILLIANT.  It is easy, simple, very compatible with Final Draft, and imports from and exports […]

Cuban Fury World Premier

6th February 2014

It’s the Cuban Fury World Premier tonight and the film opens next week, so be sure to check it out.  I was Choreographic Producer on this, plus choreographed the fight scene.  Richard Marcel did a fantastic job on all the salsa choreography.  Thanks again to my lovely band of assistants who worked on this with […]

10th January 2014

The brilliant World’s End is out on DVD.  Check out the ‘Choreography Making Of’ for an insight into the movement of the Blanks.  Also read this article about the making of The World’s End in Focus Features.

Perfect Day

It’s not often that one can say this, but yesterday I think I had a perfect day.  I’m working on a new film, with a group of wonderfully professional and lovely people.  The day started with a productive and playful dance rehearsal, and finished with a session in the gym and dinner with my sister.  […]

Khushi ‘Magpie’

Myself and my business partner Anna Brunoro Exec Produced this music video for the artist Khushi.  We had a wonderful time working with a group of fantastically talented up and comers.  Director: Ryan Goodman, Producer: Rupert Savage, and Choreographer: Matt Harris.  The song is also very lovely and the final film/music video makes me cry […]
