Bird Girl

29th September 2014

I’ve finished a new painting. It’s up in the ARTWORK section of my site.  It was an experiment in proportion (I was playing with unrealistic proportions) which was relatively successful; and also in using thin washes to build up layers of colour (not quite as successful).  In the end, I felt like my washes were […]

The Importance of Experimentation

19th September 2014

I’ve been busy working on a screenplay and a new painting. Both projects are essentially opportunities for experimentation.  As a writer, I have a tendency to fine edit as I go. As a result, the process can take a long time and I often end up carefully crafting sections that don’t serve the over-all story […]

Virgin Trains Arrive Awesome

Check out the new advert I did for Virgin Trains.  All of the performers (mostly dancers) did all of the slow motion REAL TIME. Absolutely no camera trickery.  There were a couple of more deliberately impressive bits that didn’t make the cut, but still, it looks pretty good.

Birthday Surprise

23rd August 2014

Thank you to Mark, Louise and Sarah at my lovely Agency for the beautiful birthday flowers!  Need a dance, choreography, acting agent? Click on this link: MARK SUMMERS.

The Lazy, Hazy Days

19th August 2014

After a rather frenetic summer with 4 jobs all falling in the same time period, I’m happy to use the remainder of August to rest and reflect. First off, thanks to Mandy M, Matt Harris, and Anthony Trahearn for fantastic assistance.  I couldn’t have done so many jobs at once without their help.  I just […]

Walking on Sunshine Reviews

25th June 2014

Another good review for WOS that mentions the choreography.  The reviewer considers ‘How Will I Know’ to be one of the best numbers. Funny considering that this song originally didn’t have any choreography in it!  I always meant for this number to be deliberately ridiculous so the following quote is appropriate! “one of the films […]

Walking on Sunshine Reviews

23rd June 2014

‘Walking on Sunshine’ has had three very nice reviews so far in Hollywood Reporter, Variety and The Mirror.  I think they totally got what the film was supposed to be; deliberately light and silly and fun.  I’m sure some critics will hate it, especially if they are not fans of musicals, but audiences should already […]

Essentialism

16th June 2014

I just finished reading ‘Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less’ by Greg McKeown. I actually bought this book by accident.  I thought it was going to be about the philosophical concept (that, for any specific entity, there is a set of attributes which are necessary to its identity and function)… but it turned out to […]

What I’ve Seen, What I’m Watching

14th June 2014

Just saw Edge of Tomorrow.  It was very ‘edge’ of seat, funny, good concept, slightly odd ending.  SPOILER ALERT!!! I wanted everyone to die, but then again, I usually prefer it when everyone dies.  Anyway, ‘Saving Private Robot’ meets ‘Alienhog Day’ sums it up nicely. TOP TV:  Good Wife: solidly, continuously amazing.  Scandal: Bonkers and […]

Walking on Sunshine Premier

Here are some photos from the Walking on Sunshine premier from Wednesday 11th.  We had a fantastic time and the film went down really well.  It’s a film that is hard not to love.  Bright, breezy, and beautiful with lots of heart and dancing.  Check it out in Cinemas on 27th June. And, for those […]
